Frequently Asked Questions
What is your office like?
Here are a few pictures! I have a space that works well for kids, teens, and adults. I share rooms with other counselors from Hope for the Journey, with each room offering a different atmosphere. We are conveniently located near King Soopers in southwest Loveland.
Do you have other location options?
Yes! I also see client at Grace Place in Berthoud. You choose the location that best serves your needs.
What is your rate?
Individual therapy: $120 per 50 minute session
(The counseling “hour” is 50 minutes of face-to-face time and 10 minutes of note taking and session preparation). Payment by cash, check, or credit card is accepted.
Do you take Insurance?
As an out of network provider for PPO plans, I can provide you with appropriate receipts for reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by contacting your insurance provider.
Any other payment options available?
Yes! Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis for those who qualify. I also see clients for free at House of Neighborly Services in Berthoud. Note that income qualifications exist. In addition, I have worked with the Second Wind Fund, a wonderful organization which helps pay for counseling services for at-risk teens in Colorado.
What should I do to before our first appointment?
To make the best use of our time together, please complete the beginning paperwork ahead of time and put together a list of any questions you have, so that we make sure to address them during our session.
What happens at our first appointment?
Your first appointment is an opportunity to meet each other, gather information, and see if we are a good fit for working together. My goal will be to get to know you, to hear some of your story, to learn what brings you to counseling, and hear about some goals you may have.
What if I don’t want to talk about faith?
We can include whatever level or type of faith you would like in our sessions. Or even not at all. I provide an open, non-judgmental environment that is your time to talk and find healing.
What if you are not a good fit for me?
Fit is definitely important! Not every counselor-client combination is right. If I am not a good fit, I won’t take it personally. I’ll do everything I can to help you find a counselor who is a better match for you.
What happens at future appointments?
After the first appointment, we will both have a better understanding of what direction to go. We will begin to have more focused conversations specifically addressing those areas of most importance to you. I will tailor my methods to what suits you best depending on how you process and interact.
How often will I need to see you?
The answer is different for every client so we’ll decide together what makes sense for you. We may meet every week, every other week, or once a month. And, we may meet for a few months, a full year, or longer, depending upon your needs.
How do I get started?
The best way to get started is to contact me today. I look forward to meeting you!
